DARK FISHING SPIDER
SPECIES: Dolomedes tenebrosus
STATUS: Least Concern
HABITAT: Under rocks, fields, grasslands, forest and around barns.
DIET: Insects
GENERAL: Though called a Fishing Spider they are not usually found near bodies of water.
The Dark Fishing Spider is quite harmless to humans but when provoked can bite and is the equivalent to a bee or wasp sting.
They have a leg span of about 8 inches.
