STATUS: Least Concern

 

HABITAT: Field, meadows, roadsides, gardens and orchards.

 

DIET: Seeds from weeds, grasses and trees, also berries and occasionally insects which it feeds to its young.

 

GENERAL: The Eastern Goldfinch is one of the few birds that actually changes color; during the summer months the male is bright yellow and when the temperatures begin to fall the yellow changes to a olive color.
