FROGS

Frogs are in the order Anura, they are characterized by their stout bodies, large eyes, long back legs, the lack of a tail except for the young and webbed feet.

Frogs are cold blooded like reptiles so they will find a suitable place to bask. After warming to a suitable temperature they will relocate to a shady spot to cool down. They can be found on all continents except Antarctica, and can be found in many types of habitats including forest, rainforest, grasslands, swamps, marshes and even deserts.

There are over 4,700 species of frogs worldwide. Due to pollution, habitat destruction and evasive species around 125 species of frogs, toads and salamanders have gone extinct in the last 35 years.
