Horsfield’s Tortoise

STATUS: Least Concern

HABITAT: Sandy areas with grasses and bushes.

DIET: Leaves, grasses, and flowers.

GENERAL: The Horsfield’s Tortoise, also known as the Russian Tortoise, can be found in from Afghanistan, across parts of Pakistan, Iran, China and Russia.

They are not a large tortoise, ranging from 6-10 inches; females being larger so as to accommodate eggs.
