Schneider’s Caiman

                

 

SPECIES: Paleosuchus trigonatus

STATUS: Least Concern

HABITAT: Small streams overgrown with vegetation.

DIET: Rodents, birds, amphibians, reptiles and occasionally fish.

GENERAL: The Schneider’s or Smooth-Fronted Caiman is one of the smaller species of Caiman reaching only about 5 feet in length and weighing about 45 pounds.
