TURKEY VULTURE

STATUS: Least Concern
HABITAT: Open to semi-open subtropical, scrublands, deserts, and grasslands.
DIET: The Turkey Vulture mostly feeds on carrion, but has been observed feeding on insects and some vegetation.
GENERAL: With an impressive wingspan of six feet, the Turkey Vulture can be seen flying overhead in wide sweeping circles looking for recently deceased animals to feed upon. Unlike its cousin the Black Vulture, the Turkey Vulture does not look for live prey.
