White Eared Tufted Marmoset

SPECIES: Callithrix jacchus

STATUS: Least Concern

HABITAT: The marmoset is from South America, primarily Brazil. They prefer living in the forest.

DIET: They feed on fruit and tree gum. Small insects are also prey.

GENERAL: Marmosets can hang on to trees, leap between them, and run across their branches. They live in large groups with their extended family. Marmosets are very social and communicate through sounds and body language. Females give birth to two babies each time she gets pregnant. The children live with the larger family their whole lives.
