SPECIES: Leptailurus serval

STATUS: Least Concern but endangered is some areas.

HABITAT: Grassland with bushes and rocky areas.

DIET: Rodents, birds, reptiles, amphibians and small antelope.

GENERAL: The African Serval also known as the Giraffe Cat due to its long legs is able to leap ten feet straight up from a sitting position and knock birds out of the air as they fly by.  From a crouching position they are able to leap horizontally to about 12 feet to catch flying birds.
