Three-Toed Box Turtle

 THREE-TOED BOX TURTLE

SPECIES: Terrapene carolina triunguis

STATUS: Near threatened

HABITAT: Grassland near water and marshy areas.

DIET: Like all box turtles, the Three-Toes Box Turtle is an omnivore feeding on fallen fruit, grasses, vegetables, and insects such as beetles, grasshoppers and earthworms.

GENERAL:  Unlike most other box turtles the Three-Toed Box Turtle is migratory in habit.
