Prothonotary Warbler
PROTHONOTARY WARBLER
SPECIES: Protonotaria citrea
STATUS: Least Concern
HABITAT: Wooded swamps, near ponds, rivers and other slow-moving waters.

The word Prothonotary comes from a group of officials in the Catholic Church who wear bright yellow hoods.
