HABITAT: Lakes, marshes, swamps, and ponds.
DIET: Insects, fish, amphibians, and some vegetation.
GENERAL: These turtles get their name from the way they tuck their heads to the side instead of pulling it in completely like most turtles can.
The African Side-Neck Turtle has a large range, going from Ghana eastward to the Sudan and south to South Africa, it also has been identified in Madagascar.
