SPECIES: Stromatopelma calceatum  

 

STATUS: Least Concern

 

HABITAT: In the high canopy hiding amongst palm tree leaves, making tube like webs in the leave to protect them from the intense African sun.

 

DIET: Insects

 

GENERAL: When first approached the spider will remain hidden but will flee if danger persists. If the attacker persists the Feather Leg Baboon Tarantula will defend itself by biting the attacker.
