SPECIES:  Green Iguana (Iguana iguana)

STATUS: Least Concern

HABITAT: Green Iguana’s spend most of the day foraging in the tropical rainforest canopy.

DIET: The Green Iguana spends most of the day lounging in the tree canopy foraging for leafs, young plants and other types of vegetation.

GENERAL:  The Green Iguana can attain a average length of around five feet to six feet but lengths of seven feet have been known.

They are excellent swimmers and when moving through the water their legs are flat against the sides of the body while their strong tail is used to propel them.
