HABITAT: Woody areas along hillsides, rock ledges and forest areas between meadows.

GENERAL: The Western Pygmy Rattlesnake is one of three species of Pygmy Rattlesnakes that get only 18-24 inches length. Bites from these rattlesnakes, even though they are venomous, are not likely to be fatal, but it is wise to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
